We're looking for a Full Stack engineer to join our small, rapidly growing team. If you're a senior full stack dev, or are mid-level and ready to take the next step to start leading projects, then the position could be perfect for you...

We’ve just closed our first significant investment round so you’ll be joining the company at a stage where you can make a proper impact on the business. You’ll be working closely with our technical leadership to build on top of the existing foundations.

WHAT WE'RE DOING...

We’re capturing realtime data from our IoT devices deployed on maritime vessels at sea. We use this data to give our customers realtime insights in to the behaviour and status of their vessels. And then, behind the scenes, we run predictive analysis on this data to help vessel managers and owners schedule maintenance, reduce their operating costs and cut their CO2 emissions.

Our users need these insights displayed in the most intuitive way, across multiple devices, including at the edge of our network onboard the vessel itself.

THE ROLE

Working closely with technical leadership to map out a full stack application
Building out the backend, frontend and edge (PWA) applications
Working closely with our data engineers and scientists to understand nuance of the data and insights
Adhering to existing code practices, creating new ones, and enforcing these standards across the engineering team
Supporting and mentoring any junior team members
Solving unique software engineering challenges every day

REQUIREMENTS

2 days / week in our Newcastle office (or City of London workspace for the right candidate)
Brilliant knowledge of JS, TS, NodeJS and a SSR framework (NuxtJS or NextJS)
Experience building out full stack, production level web applications, from inception to deployment
Write great, clean, dry code
Solid knowledge of encryption, authentication methods and practices
Be experienced in working with git and GitHub in large team environments
Have a startup mindset
Thrive in ambiguity and uncertainty
Love using initiative
Communicate brilliantly
Enjoy being challenged, and challenging others

IDEALLY, YOU…

Have built Vue & Nuxt3 webapps
Have experience writing code for IoT devices
Have experience with MongoDB / Mongoose
Have experience with CAN communication protocol / Networks
Have built infrastructure on Azure
Have worked in a startup before
Worked in a senior full stack role before, or are ready to take the step

£40k - £55k salary
